Shaf Rasul (pictured) has launched a new property technology competition in partnership with the Strathclyde University.
Rasul, who was named as the university’s resident entrepreneur in February, is sponsoring the ‘PropTech Innovation Challenge’, delivered by the Strathclyde Entrepreneurial Network.
The competition is inviting entries from innovators developing new technology spanning software, hardware, and manufacturing.
The five winners will each receive prizes of £5,000.
“The PropTech Innovation Challenge is a huge opportunity for the best technological minds at the University of Strathclyde to get their leading ideas off the ground with a significant cash injection,” he said.
Fiona Ireland, head of enterprise at the University of Strathclyde, added: “When the idea of the PropTech Innovation Challenge was first mooted, we were excited by the possibilities of where it might lead.”
Rasul, a former member of the BBC’s online Dragon’s Den, is the founder of commercial property specialists SRA Ventures and has an investment portfolio across a range of sectors.
