The UK PropTech Association has launched with the aim of support businesses and individuals with an interest the burgeoning sector.
Events announced by the UKPA include a trade mission to New York in June and UK proptech awards in December.
Eddie Holmes, chairman of the UKPA, said: “The growth of proptech in the UK has been astounding. Today’s climate of ever-increasing investment in PropTech businesses is mirrored by a boom in adoption of new technology by property professionals and consumers alike.
“It’s more important today than ever before to make sure that the companies and people driving innovation in proptech have a body which can help them succeed.
“It’s one of the key goals of the UKPA to bring technology businesses and property businesses closer together. For too long each group has viewed each other with some trepidation. We will work to build bridges between, and create opportunities for, both industries.”
Inaugural members of the trade body’s steering group are Dan Hughes, Edwin Bartlett, James Dearsley, and Juliette Morgan.
Dearsley said:“I’ve seen first-hand how important it is to help the property industry work with technology companies during my time working in both sectors. I hope to bring this insight to the UKPA steering committee and look forward to seeing proptech continue to flourish in the UK.”
